OTOBA hosted their annual Oregon Championship Day at Portland Meadows on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Spirit Mountain Casino was again the presenting sponsor. Their generous support made for an increase in prizes, including larger purses, trophies, blankets and halters.
Along with the excitement of live racing, there were lots of activities, including an Oregon Microbrew Festival and the Turf Club Buffet, featuring Oregon foods, a “HorsePlay” area for kids and a jockey autograph signing session.
In addition to the stakes races, OTOBA, the Oregon HBPA and the Southern Oregon Horse Racing Association honored horseman Don Jackson with a special presentation and the $25,000 Don Jackson Futurity.
