Before you nominate your Oregon-breds to our Oregon Stakes Series you must meet two criteria. First, the owner of the foal must be a member of the OTOBA. Second, the foal must be born in Oregon.
ALL nomination fees are payable by July 31st, 2008.
The Oregon Stakes Series consists of the following races:
Oregon Futurity (Os West) - ONE MILE
Two-year-olds foaled in Oregon
Scheduled to run in the fall/winter at Portland Meadows
Nominated and kept eligible by payment
$100 to pass entry box and $150 to start. Supplemental nomination fee of 20% of the estimated gross purse, payable at time of entry. |
Bill Wineberg Memorial - SIX FURLONGS
Two-year-old colts and geldings foaled in Oregon
Scheduled to run in the fall at Portland Meadows
Nominated and kept eligible by payment
$50 to pass entry box and $100 to start. Supplemental nomination fee of 20% of the estimated gross purse, payable at time of entry. |
Janet Wineberg Memorial - SIX FURLONGS
Two-year-old fillies foaled in Oregon
Scheduled to run in the fall at Portland Meadows
Nominated and kept eligible by payment
$150 to pass entry box and $100 to start. Supplemental nomination fee of 20% of the estimated gross purse payable at time of entry. |
Weights for Two-Year-Olds
Equal weight of 120lbs., 5 pound filly allowance (115) in stakes open to either sex.
Total Purse Moneys to be Divided as Follows:
1st-55%, 2nd-20%, 3rd-15%, 4th-7.5%, 5th-2.5% |
The OTOBA Board of Directors may change any condition or term regarding these races at any time. If a race fails to fill or is not run for any reason the OTOBA Board may at its discretion, run the race at another track or date, or cancel the race. If cancellation occurs the OTOBA may be required only to refund the nomination paid at that time in accordance with policy of the board.

NOMINATION FEE
OPTION 1 – Foals of 2008
One time payment by July 31st of the foaling year for full eligibility to both Oregon Futurity and Bill or Janet Wineberg Stakes.
Fee:
- Colt/gelding is a one time payment of $200 ($150 nomination fee for the Oregon Futurity and $50 nomination fee for the Bill Wineberg Stakes).
- Filly is one time payment of $150 ($80 nomination fee for the Oreogn Futurity and $70 towards the Janet Wineberg Stakes).
OPTION 2 – Two Year Payment Plan
-First payment is due by July 31st, 2008 for foals born in 2008 (weanlings). The fee is as follows: $75 for the Oregon Futurity and $30 for the Bill or Janet Wineberg.
-Second payment is due by July 31st, 2008 for foals born in 2007 (yearlings). The fee is as follows: $125 for the Oregon Futurity and $60 for the Bill or Janet Wineberg.
OPTION 3 – Foals of 2007
One time payment due July 31st, 2008 of yearling year for Oregon-bred yearlings not previously nominated in 2007.
- Colt/gelding is a one time payment of $750 (this fee nominates colt/gelding to the Oregon Futurity and Bill Wineberg Stakes.)
- Filly is one time payment of $500 (this fee nominates filly to the Oregon Futurity and Janet Wineberg Stakes.)
